About 21.5 Years Too Old

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

According to this lovely calculator put out by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, I used my share of the Earth by the time I was 3.5 years old.  In other words, in the best interests of the Earth, it would have been preferable to have died around December 1986.  Every year since then I've been a "greenhouse pig" daring to live a decent lifestyle, eat meat, go to work and basically exist.  Well, I have to say, I'm sorry Mother Earth, but if this is true I hope to use many more times my share before I'm done raping you with my evil ways.

The sick thing is that this is for kids.  It is meant to teach youngsters that by doing perfectly normal things, they are in fact stealing from others and abusing the planet.  Only by choosing the most radical options does the user earn the "right" to exist on Earth for a normal lifespan.  The rest of us are just pigs consuming too many resources, and the Earth would be better off with us dead.

The whole premise is absurd – the average person would use many times their share, and yet we all still exist.  The only practical solution to the problem, if this calculator is correct, is massive population control (that is, sterilizing or eliminating huge numbers) or a dramatic reduction in lifestyle.  At that, indeed, is the true ultimate goal of environmentalism – to portray humans as wasteful, destructive abusers.  The global warming agenda is the major current incarnation of this ideology, teaching us we are destroying the earth by doing normal things such as eating meat, driving, producing energy, and even breathing.

The means to achieve these goals is the reckless, despicable fear tactics on display here.  I for one refuse to accept the premise that I am a cancer on this Earth.  We are created by God and should be good stewards, but this is insane.  It's about power and control.  And it must be stopped, because these people are ready and willing to terrify our children to support their agenda.
